  • 1 tbsp baking powder for crispiness
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • 2 tsp water to mix with cornstarch

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Air Fryer (optional)
  • Deep Fryer (optional)
  • Saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Toss chicken wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange wings on the wire rack in a single layer. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  4. Meanwhile, make the sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. If desired, thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  6. Remove wings from oven and toss them in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
  7. Optional: Return coated wings to the oven or air fryer for 2–3 minutes to caramelize the glaze.

Notes

For a spicy variation, add chili flakes, cayenne, or sriracha to the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for presentation.
